On September 11, 2010, Honor Flight #12 brought Honor Flight Tennessee Valley to a close. Over 1300 World War II Veterans have been safely carried to and from their WWII Memorial in Washington DC. Recognizing that most WWII Veterans were deceased when the Memorial was built, a program was initiated to honor their memory. Honor Flight Tennessee Valley was honored to have transported almost 300 burial flags of WWII Veterans to their Memorial. The Honor Flags program enabled these precious symbols of our nation's gratitude for the service of these deceased Veterans to become a part of the memorial they were never physically able to see.

The Honor Flight and Honor Flags programs would not have been possible without the hundreds and hundreds of Guardians and Volunteers who eagerly supported each and every Honor Flight event. It would not have been possible without the thousands of individual donors, corporations, organizations, and friends of Honor Flight. The entire Huntsville / Madison County / North Alabama community came out and supported this extraordinary initiative, perhaps like no other program in memory.

The Honor Flight Tennessee Valley Board of Directors expresses our appreciation and sincerely says "THANK YOU" for what you all have done to make this program successful and so meaningful for those World War II Veterans and their families.
